Getting Started with CrafterQ¶
Welcome to CrafterQ, your platform for building, training, and deploying AI agents that can converse intelligently with your customers, employees, or partners — across websites, apps, and messaging platforms.
CrafterQ turns your content and data into interactive, conversational experiences powered by generative AI. Whether you’re building a customer support bot, a virtual sales assistant, or an internal knowledge companion, CrafterQ provides everything you need to create, manage, and scale your AI agents — all from one intuitive dashboard.
CrafterQ Key Concepts¶
CrafterQ is built around a few core building blocks: Agents, Sources, and Integrations.
Agents¶
Agents are the conversational AIs you create in CrafterQ.
Each agent has its own:
Personality and tone (set via prompts)
User interface (appearance, chat behavior)
AI model configuration (temperature, response limits, etc.)
Connected content and data sources
You can create multiple agents for different purposes — for example, one for customer support, another for product recommendations, or one embedded in your intranet for employee FAQs.
Sources¶
Sources are where your agent gets its knowledge. You can connect:
Websites (URLs or domains to crawl)
Files (PDFs, Word docs, etc.)
Text (direct pasted text)
Q&A pairs (manual question-answer entries)
CrafterQ automatically trains your agent on these sources using a proprietary, advanced approach involving LLM and AI engineering techniques, ensuring that the AI’s responses are grounded in your own content.
When your source data changes, you can retrain the agent with a single click.
Integrations¶
Integrations connect your CrafterQ agents to external platforms, including:
Website platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Wix, Webflow, etc.)
E-commerce systems (Shopify, Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce)
Integrations make deployment easy — allowing you to embed your agent anywhere your users are.
How CrafterQ Works¶
At a high level, CrafterQ combines your content, AI models, and deployment tools into a unified workflow:
Create an Agent
Define its purpose, tone, and configuration.
Connect Your Content and Data (Sources)
Upload documents, add URLs, or input structured Q&A pairs.
CrafterQ automatically ingests and trains on this content.
Test in the Playground
Interact with your agent in a safe environment.
Adjust prompts, tone, or AI parameters for optimal results.
Deploy with Ease
Use the Embed & Share screen to add the agent to your website or application.
Integrate with your preferred platforms via plug-ins or code snippets.
Monitor & Improve
View usage analytics and chat logs.
Refine agent behaviors with new or updated content/data, or refine settings to improve performance.
Behind the scenes, CrafterQ uses proprietary LLM implementation and AI engineering techniques to ground the model’s responses in your data, ensuring accuracy and brand consistency.
This architecture allows CrafterQ to deliver enterprise-grade AI experiences with accuracy, security, scalability, and flexibility.
Next Steps¶
Continue to the next section, Build Your First Agent, to start creating your first CrafterQ agent and experience how quickly you can turn your data into an intelligent conversational assistant.
Build Your First Agent¶
This section walks you through creating your first AI agent in CrafterQ — from setup and data connection to testing and deployment.
1. Create Your Agent¶
Login to your CrafterQ account and navigate to the Agents screen.
Click the Create Agent button.
On the Create Agent screen, configure the following:
General Settings
Name: Enter a descriptive name for your agent (e.g., Customer Support Bot or Product Finder).
Description (optional): Add a short description to help your team identify the agent’s purpose.
User Interface Settings
Leave these blank for now — you can adjust them later when you start testing.
Click Save to create your new agent.
Your agent is now created and ready to be connected to content and data sources.
2. Connect Your Content and Data Sources¶
Your agent needs access to content and data so it can provide meaningful, correct and targeted answers to your intended audience. You can connect websites, documents, text, or predefined Q&A pairs.
Go to the Sources screen.
Click Create Source.
Choose the type of source(s) you want to add:
Website(s): Enter one or more URLs. CrafterQ will crawl and index the content.
Files: Upload supported document formats (PDF, DOCX, TXT, etc.).
Text: Paste raw text or structured content directly.
Q&A: Add question-and-answer pairs for predefined responses.
After creating your source, CrafterQ will automatically train the agent on this data.
If you later modify or add new sources, Crafter Q will automatically train/retrain to update your agent’s knowledge base.
Pro Tip 1
You can combine multiple source types (e.g., website + PDFs) to create a more comprehensive dataset.
Pro Tip 2
If you update your content on your website(s), you can hit the Retrain button to force CrafterQ to crawl and train on that new content.
Bonus: Depending upon your Billing Plan, CrafterQ may automatically crawl and train on new content found in your website sources every 24 hours.
3. Test Your Agent in the Playground¶
Once your data sources are connected, it’s time to test your agent.
Navigate to the Playground screen.
Ask your agent various questions or commands to evaluate its responses.
Review how accurately it retrieves information from your sources and responds in context, as well as the overall look and feel.
4. Update Settings¶
If adjustments are needed, go to the Settings screen for your agent:
Update the Agent Instructions (aka System Prompt) to guide the agent’s behavior.
Adjust the Temperature setting for more or less creative responses.
Customize the UI Colors, User Prompt Field Placeholder*, **Welcome Message, and/or Quick Messages to match your desired tone and user experience.
Turn on/off Collect Feedback (thumbs up/down) and dynamically-generated Follow-Up Message features.
Bonus: There’s a live instance of your Agent on the Settings screen (right hand column) to test and evaluate your Agent behavior without having to go to the Playground.
Continue testing in the Settings screen or in the Playground until the agent’s responses meet your expectations.
5. Embed Your Agent on Your Website¶
When your agent performs well in testing, you’re ready to deploy it to your site or app.
Go to the Embed & Share screen.
Follow the on-screen instructions to generate your embed code or share link.
Copy the provided JavaScript snippet and paste it into your website’s HTML (or use your platform’s integration method). Once deployed, your CrafterQ agent will be live and ready to engage users directly on your site.
Next Steps¶
Explore the Usage screen to track Agent utilization across time and geography.
Visit Chat Logs to track user interactions and agent effectiveness.
Refine your Agent’s behavior by updating your content/data sources (especially Q&A).
Revisit the Settings screen to refine your agent’s tone, instructions, and performance.
