FAQ¶
Welcome to the CrafterQ FAQ.
Below you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about creating, training, deploying, and managing AI agents in CrafterQ.
General Questions¶
Q: What is CrafterQ?¶
CrafterQ is an AI agent platform that allows organizations to create and deploy intelligent chatbots trained on their own content and data. Agents can be embedded on websites, integrated with business systems, and customized for tone, behavior, and appearance.
Q: How is CrafterQ different from other chatbot platforms?¶
Unlike traditional chatbots that rely on predefined scripts, CrafterQ uses large language models (LLMs) and advanced, proprietary AI engineering techniques to provide conversational, contextually accurate responses — grounded in your own content, not the public internet.
Q: Who can use CrafterQ?¶
CrafterQ is designed for enterprises, digital teams, and developers who need intelligent, brand-aligned conversational experiences. Typical use cases include website engagement, customer support, product guidance, internal knowledge assistants, and interactive e-commerce experiences.
Q: What is the CrafterQ administrative user interface (UI) called?¶
We refer to the CrafterQ admin UI as the CrafterQ Console.
Getting Started¶
Q: How do I create my first agent?¶
From the AI Agents screen, click Create Agent, give it a name, and connect your content under Sources. Then test your setup in the Playground and deploy it through Embed & Share. See Build Your First Agent for a step-by-step guide.
Q: How many agents can I create?¶
Your limit depends on your organization’s subscription plan. You can view your usage and limits on the Dashboard under the Plan Usage section.
Q: Can multiple team members work on the same agent?¶
Yes. Organization admins and owners can invite other users to collaborate via the Users screen, assigning them roles such as Member, Admin, or Owner.
Sources and Training¶
Q: What types of data sources can I connect?¶
CrafterQ supports four types:
Website (crawl URLs and extract page content)
File (upload PDFs, DOCX, or TXT files)
Text (paste custom text blocks)
Q&A (add structured question-answer pairs)
Q: How long does it take for a new source to train?¶
Training time depends on the size and number of sources. Most small-to-medium sources are completed within a few minutes.
The training status appears next to each source as Pending, Crawling (for websites only), Training, Trained, Partially Trained, or Error.
Q: Do I need to retrain my agent when content changes?¶
It depends. If you update or replace a source within the CrafterQ Console, your agent(s) will be trained on the updated source immediately and automatically. For web content that is updated on your website(s) through your CMS, then your agent(s) will be retrained automatically at an interval depending on Billing Plan. To train your agent(s) on you new web content immediately, then click the Retrain button to refresh the agent(s) with the latest data.
Playground and Testing¶
Q: Does testing in the Playground affect my plan usage?¶
Yes. All messages sent in the Playground count toward your organization’s credit and usage quota since they use live model inference.
Q: Can I compare multiple configurations side by side?¶
Not yet. The current version of CrafterQ supports one Playground instance per agent. Future updates will include side-by-side testing to compare results from different prompts, temperatures, or models.
Q: My agent’s responses are inaccurate or incomplete — what should I do?¶
Try the following:
Ensure the correct data is connected under Sources.
Check your System Prompt to confirm the agent’s behavior is properly defined.
Retrain your agent if your web content was recently updated through a separate CMS.
Test again in the Playground to verify improvements.
Embedding and Integration¶
Q: How do I embed my agent on my website?¶
Go to Embed & Share, copy the provided <script> snippet, and paste it before the closing </body> tag in your site’s HTML.
You can also use the hosted share link for quick sharing.
Q: Can I customize the chat widget appearance?¶
Yes. You can modify branding, theme, colors, and welcome messages from the User Interface section of your agent’s Settings screen.
Q: Does CrafterQ integrate with other systems?¶
Yes. CrafterQ supports integrations with popular platforms including:
Websites: WordPress, Drupal, Wix, Webflow
E-Commerce: Shopify, Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce
Messaging: Slack, Discord, Facebook Messenger
Business Tools: Zendesk, Zapier, Stripe, HubSpot, and others
Usage and Billing¶
Q: How are credits consumed?¶
Credits are used for every chat message (including Playground tests) and for training sources. You can monitor usage under Dashboard or per agent under Agents → Usage.
Q: What happens if I exceed my plan limits?¶
Once you reach 100% of your quota (agents, storage, or credits), CrafterQ may pause new training or chat sessions until you upgrade or free up resources.
Q: Are there different pricing plans?¶
Yes. CrafterQ offers multiple subscription tiers based on agent count, user seats, and credit volume. Visit your Billing page or contact support for details on upgrading.
User Management¶
Q: What’s the difference between Member, Admin, and Owner roles?¶
Member: View-only access, cannot change settings.
Admin: Full access to create and manage agents, but limited user management.
Owner: Complete control over all agents, settings, billing, and user roles.
Q: How do I invite a new user?¶
Go to Users, click Create User, fill in their name, email, and role, then click Save. An invitation email will be sent to the new team member.
Analytics and Monitoring¶
Q: Can I see where my users are chatting from?¶
Yes. Both the Dashboard and Usage screens include a Chats by Country map visualization showing user engagement by region.
Q: Can I review individual chat sessions?¶
Absolutely. The Chat Logs screen lets you view each chat transcript, filter by feedback (thumbs up/down), analyze specific user interactions and agent responses, and generate Q&A sources to improve the answers to specific questions.
Troubleshooting¶
Q: My agent isn’t responding when embedded. What should I check?¶
Confirm that the <script> tag includes the correct data-q-id or agent ID.
Ensure your browser isn’t blocking the CrafterQ domain (https://chat.crafterq.ai).
Verify your internet connection and that your agent’s status is Active.
If the issue persists, contact CrafterQ support.
